# How to record and transcribe an MTS Link meeting on a Mac

MTS Link (formerly Webinar.ru) can transcribe a meeting itself, but only on Enterprise tariffs, only in Russian, and only after up to a day of processing. If you are on another plan, or you are an attendee rather than the organiser, the reliable route on a Mac is to record your own computer's sound and transcribe it there. Mumr does that for free.

Short version

- **MTS Link's recorder** is in the organiser's hands for webinars and saves to the account's cloud storage.
- **MTS Link's transcript and summary** are on Enterprise, Enterprise Total and academic tariffs, in Russian only, within 24 hours.
- **Mumr** records the meeting's audio and your mic and transcribes on your Mac, on any tariff and in any role, in Russian or 24 other languages. No bot joins.
- **Tell people you are recording.** MTS Link's own help says the same about its bot-free recorder: warning the others is your responsibility.

## What MTS Link does on its own

- **Recording.** Starting a recording in a webinar needs organiser or administrator rights. Recordings are stored in the account's cloud files and can be converted to MP4 on MTS's servers.
- **Text transcription and summary.** Available on the Enterprise, Enterprise Total and academic tariffs, not the Meetings line. Russian only, made from the recording's audio track, ready within 24 hours. The AI assistant built on it uses AI developed by MTS and only works if transcription was on during the meeting.
- **The AI PRO module.** Records meetings on other platforms — Zoom, Teams, Telemost — from the MTS Link desktop app, capturing the mic and system audio without a bot. The data goes to the MTS cloud or to your own installation. It is not available on Linux, the web or mobile, and on a Mac it needs the Screen Recording permission, just as Mumr does.
- **On a Mac** there is an MTS Link desktop app for macOS, as well as Windows and Linux.

So MTS Link's own transcript depends on your organisation's tariff and the organiser's choices, and AI PRO's recordings go to a cloud. Mumr is the option where neither applies.

## Transcribing an MTS Link meeting with Mumr

1. **Install Mumr** from the Mac App Store and open it before the meeting.
2. **Approve two macOS prompts** on first run: the microphone, and screen recording, which is what grants access to system audio. Mumr does not record the screen.
3. **Join the meeting or webinar** in the MTS Link app or the browser.
4. **Say that you are recording**, then press Record in Mumr.
5. **Press Stop** when it ends. The transcript is written on your Mac, then the summary.

Mumr records the sound your Mac plays, so it doesn't matter whether you are the organiser, a participant or a webinar attendee, or which tariff the organisation pays for.

## The summary, and what works from Russia

- **Quick highlights**, the default, runs on your Mac with no key or account. It lifts the headline and key points from the transcript, so it stays in the meeting's language, though its ranking is tuned for English.
- **Apple Intelligence** (macOS 26 or later) does not support Russian.
- **Your own AI** — an Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter key, or Claude Code or Codex — writes decisions and action items in any language. Anthropic and OpenAI do not list Russia among their supported countries, so from Russia those options may be out of reach; Quick highlights needs no account at all.

Mumr's interface is in English; transcripts and summaries are in the language of the meeting.

## Before you record

Recording without a bot changes what others see, not your duty to tell them. Say that you are recording and get a yes; on a webinar you don't run, ask the organiser. If the meeting takes place under Russian law, the [Russian version of this page](https://mumr.app/ru/rasshifrovka-mts-link-mac) covers articles 137 and 138 of the Criminal Code; for the US, see the [guide to recording a meeting on a Mac](https://mumr.app/record-meeting-mac).

MTS Link facts are from its help centre on [recording](https://help.mts-link.ru/article/23269), [stored recordings](https://help.mts-link.ru/article/19783), [transcription](https://help.mts-link.ru/article/26424) and the [AI PRO recorder](https://help.mts-link.ru/article/30567), checked on 9 October 2026. If MTS Link's pages say otherwise today, they are right.

## FAQ

### Does MTS Link transcribe meetings?

Yes, on the Enterprise, Enterprise Total and academic tariffs. MTS Link's text transcription and summary works in Russian only, is built from the recording, and can take up to 24 hours.

### Can an attendee record an MTS Link webinar?

Not with MTS Link's own recorder: starting a webinar recording needs organiser or administrator rights. On a Mac, an attendee can record the sound of their own computer with Mumr; whether they may is a separate question, so ask the organiser.

### How is Mumr different from MTS Link's AI PRO recorder?

Both record a call from the desktop without a bot. MTS Link's AI PRO module sends the data to the MTS cloud or to your own installation; Mumr keeps capture and transcription on your Mac and needs no account.

### Which languages does Mumr transcribe?

The default engine transcribes 25 European languages, including Russian and Ukrainian, and detects the language by itself. Whisper, available in Settings, covers 99+.
